Privacy Notice and Process Description Regarding Data Processing Related to the MiReHu MakuApp – mobile application

(hereinafter referred to as: the Company) hereby provides you with this privacy policy and process description in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation, hereinafter: GDPR), to inform you of all relevant aspects concerning the processing of your personal data.
By participating in this process, you become a data subject in accordance with the provisions outlined in this process description.

Data Subjects:

Individuals who download and use the MiReHu MaKu App mobile application.

Description of the Data Processing Activity:

The Data Controller has developed a waste management mobile application, named after the Company, designed to assist the general public. This application can be downloaded by the data subject onto their mobile device and is available for both Android and iOS operating systems.

Through the application, data subjects may access the following features:

  • Waste collection calendar

  • Map 

  • Recycling points (drop-off locations)

  • News

  • "Where should I throw this?" guide

  • Bulk waste pickup request / donation feature

The user form-based reporting function is directed to customer service.

The bulk waste pickup request feature is only available to individuals residing in single-family residential areas.

Use of Third-Party Services – Google Firebase

In the course of using the application, the operator utilizes external services provided by Google Firebase for statistical data collection:

Google Analytics Application:

During use of the application, the Data Controller employs the Google Analytics service, an analytics tool provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies," which are text files that facilitate the analysis of how the downloaded application is used. Information generated about the User’s application usage is typically transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the United States. On behalf of the application operator, Google uses this information to evaluate how the User interacts with the application, to compile reports on application activity for the operator, and to provide other services related to the use of the application.

Crashlytics Application:

Crashlytics is a crash-reporting tool that logs usage data of the downloaded application. It provides information about the application’s usage details, including device status, usage and location data, and analysis of unique device identifiers.

Purpose of Data Processing:

Operation of the MiReHu MaKu App mobile application for the purpose of assisting the general public.

Provision of a waste collection calendar, submission of selective container emptying requests, and communication with users of the application through the use of push notifications.

Capturing the location and quantity of illegally disposed waste via photographs to facilitate its removal.

Provision of functionality for reporting or offering bulk waste for pickup.

Legal Basis for Data Processing:

The legal basis for data processing is Article 6(1)(e) of the GDPR, which permits processing necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.

The Data Controller’s core activity is waste management. In performing this activity, the Controller qualifies as a “body performing a task in the public interest.”

  • Address for bulk waste pickup

  • Estimated volume of bulk waste

  • Type of bulk waste (e.g., large-item, boxed, bagged, loose)

Data is collected directly from the data subject.

Potential Consequences of Not Providing Data:

In the absence of data processing, the Data Controller is unable to provide access to or ensure the use of the application.

The Company involves the following data processor(s) in the course of data processing:

Data Transfers to Third Parties and Legal Basis for Such Transfers:

The Company does not transfer personal data to third parties. However, data subjects are hereby informed that personal data may be disclosed to courts or authorities if required by applicable law.

Should a court or authority, acting under a statutory procedure, require the Company to disclose personal data, the Company is legally obliged to comply and provide the requested data to the competent authority or court in accordance with its legal obligations.

Automated Decision-Making:

No automated decision-making takes place during the data processing activities.

Rules Regarding the Exercise of Data Subject Rights:

The Company informs you that, in accordance with the GDPR, and following the verification of your identity, you may exercise the following rights in relation to this data processing activity:

  • Request information about the processing of your personal data

  • Request the rectification of your personal data

  • Withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data

  • Request the erasure of your personal data (under the conditions set out in Article 17(1) of the GDPR)

  • Request the restriction of processing of your personal data

  • Exercise your right to data portability (if processing is carried out by automated means)

The Company ensures the security of your personal data and takes all necessary technical and organizational measures required by the GDPR and other data protection and confidentiality regulations. Personal data is protected against unauthorized access, alteration, transmission, disclosure, deletion, or destruction, as well as against accidental loss or damage.

The Company strives to provide all information in a concise, transparent, intelligible, easily accessible, clear, and plain language format, in compliance with the GDPR.

If you wish to exercise any of the rights listed above in relation to the purposes set out in this notice, you may submit your request in writing to the Data Protection Officer at the contact details provided in this privacy notice. If you request information verbally, a representative of the Company authorized to provide such information may do so following the verification of your identity, provided all necessary data is available. In all other cases, your request will be recorded, and you will be informed about the outcome of your request no later than one month from its receipt. This deadline may be extended by up to two additional months if justified by the complexity of the request or the number of ongoing requests. In such cases, you will be informed electronically within one month of receipt of your request.

If no action is taken in response to your request, or you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may seek legal remedy.

You may lodge a complaint regarding our data processing practices with the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság), or alternatively, with the competent court based on your residence or place of stay.
